Brunello di Montalcino Riserva

The Riserva is produced 6 years after the harvest, only with the best grapes in exceptional years. A meditation wine, which requires time and calm. Beautiful wine for special occasions.

Grapes: Sangiovese 100%

Denomination: D.O.C.G. (Designation of origin and guaranteed)

Taste: Elegant, structured, soft and powerful tannin with strong and decisive character and long spicy in the mouth.

Soil composition: Stony, marl, rich in skeleton in the two South East and South West areas

Training system: Balanced unilateral spurred cordon

Density of vines per hectare: 4,600

Yield per hectare: 60/70 quintals of grapes

Production area: Montalcino

Harvest: September – October

Vinification: Spontaneous fermentation, without the addition of yeasts. In 50 hl vats, intense initial pumping over with maximum temperature control at 30 degrees centigrade, long maceration on the skins.

Aging: about 36 months in 7/30 hl Slavonian oak barrels

Alcoholic degree: 14% Vol.

Color: Intense ruby red with garnet reflections, limpid.

Bouquet: Austere and enveloping with a hint of tobacco, leather and cinnamon.
